Bravo Target Safety is currently seeking a Dispatcher – Operations Coordinator to join our team. The Dispatcher – Operations Coordinator will be responsible for clearly and accurately capturing and relaying our customer needs, fleet and equipment requirements, and employee scheduling. This role requires acute time management and organizational skills while working collaboratively to provide our management team, operations, administrative staff, and field staff with up-to-date information. This position is full-time on a 5/2 schedule with on-call structure based in Leduc (Edmonton), Alberta.

Job Duties:

  • Maintain daily communication and documentation with the Operations team regarding personnel, equipment & material needs for delivery to and from all locations.
  • Ensure daily activity report (DAR) is completed, updated, and maintained daily, for all personnel and equipment deployed to the field.
  • Communicate with Logistics and other support staff to ensure that all materials and equipment have been logged prior to being sent out to location and logged again upon return.
  • Ensure all daily time entry has been reviewed, and approved daily for processing.
  • Review all copies of the Field Service Tickets to ensure they reflect the correct personnel, materials and equipment that are deployed or returned.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all current software systems.
  • Assist with providing schedules or expertise concerning schedules to all sites.
  • Coordinate leave requests for field staff ensuring trained relief coverage is in place.

Job Duties:

  • Provide QAQC knowledge and expertise to peers and business departments as necessary
  • Responsible for forecasting and allocating internal and external equipment resources to major projects.
  • Must report all missing equipment and/or damages incurred throughout major projects, and provide estimates for additional time for post cleanup or preparation
  • Support in the procurement of safety products (PPE and consumables for project specific needs)

  • Build rapport with on site representatives and staff

  • Contact and set-up or update STARS site number, and complete BTS paperwork package

The Accounting Technician, under the direction of the Controller, is primarily responsible for the General Accounting of the company.

Job Duties:

General Accounting:

  • Prepare and coordinate the timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports including analysis to validate the accuracy and consistency with expectations.
  • Ensure financial statements are prepared in accordance with GAAP/ASPE.
  • Monitor all bank transactions including month end bank reconciliations.
  • Perform accurate monthly reconciliations of all GL accounts.
  • Posting monthly and ad hoc journal entries.
  • Maintain accounting schedules, such as the capital asset and lease accounting schedule.
  • Coordinate monthly preparation & posting of accruals with the billing and payables teams.
  • Ensure corporate taxes, GST, PST, and other remittances are reconciled and paid as required.
  • Ensure the strict confidentiality and privacy of financial records as they relate to the organization and its customers.

Financial Planning and Analysis

  • Assist with preparation of the budget and forecasts.
  • Prepare monthly analysis of variances against planned activities, providing insight into key movements.

Other Duties

  • Assist billing team with generating and sending client invoices as needed.
  • Assist payables and payroll teams as required.
  • Participant in a strong accounting control, and system processes in our ERP System (Viewpoint).
  • Ad hoc tasks and projects assigned by the Controller and by other Company Management.

Technical Requirements:

  • Basic knowledge of accounting systems, budgets, and internal controls.
  • Ability to learn effective use of ERP System (Vista by Viewpoint).
  • Strong computer skills with the ability to effectively use Microsoft Office Suite, mainly Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with general bookkeeping work including journal entries, accounting schedules and reconciliations.
  • Experience in gathering data, compiling the proper information, and preparing financial reports.
  • 5 years of experience in an accounting position.
  • Post-secondary degree or certificate with a focus in accounting.
  • A CPA designation would be an asset but is not required.
